Location: Piata Victoriei area, Bucharest, Romania
Event: A public gathering initiated by Cartel Alfa and the Romanian Police and Penitentiaries Unions is expected to occur in and around Piata Victoriei, Thursday, October 20, 2022 between 1100-1700. According to information received from the Police, around 5,000 participants are expected, and the protest will be in place as follows:
11:00-11:30: protesters gathering in Piata Victoriei
11:30-13:00: public gathering in the square
13:00-13:30: march towards Piata Revolutiei, on Victoriei Avenue, to the Ministry of Interior/Ministry of Labor and Energy
13:30-15:00: public gathering in the square
15:00-15:30: march towards Piata Victoriei, on the following route: Nicolae Balcescu Blvd. – Gheorghe Magheru Blvd. – Piata Romana – Lascar Catargiu Blvd. – Piata Victoriei
15:30-16:00: public gathering in the square
16:00-16:30: protesters leaving the square.
The Romanian Government and law enforcement entities are aware of the impending protest and are prepared to take all appropriate security measures. This will include road closures around Piata Victoriei likely before, during, and after the protest.
Protests and demonstrations are often unpredictable. It is expected that normal pedestrian and vehicular traffic in these areas will be adversely affected.
