The Institute for Security Governance, in cooperation with U.S. European Command and Government of Romania, conducted a Workshop in Bucharest, September 25-29, 2023 to launch a bilateral security cooperation effort. This event brought together 140 participants from dozens of national ministries and institutions in Romania to focus on the development and implementation of resilience capacities in support of NATO collective defense. This event kicks off a five-year institutional capacity building initiative focused on enhancing national crisis management, Host Nation Support, and other capabilities in support of NATO operations.

“I am thrilled to have the EUCOM and ISG team in Romania to assist us with the implementation of the seven NATO Resilience Baseline requirements. It’s an excellent opportunity for all participants in the Interagency Resilience Working Group and I am sure it will be a catalyst for years to come,” said Dr. Raed Arafat, Secretary of State, Ministry of Internal Affairs
Romanian activities to advance these efforts are focused on measurably improving readiness to support NATO Baseline Requirements for Resilience. To learn more, visit NATO Review – Resilience: the first line of defence.
