Presidential Proclamation Suspending Immigration – COVID 19

On April 22, the President signed a Proclamation which suspends the entry of certain immigrants to the United States for a period of 60 days. The Department of State is implementing this Proclamation in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security, and in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Under the Proclamation, the Department of State temporarily will not issue immigrant visas, with certain exceptions as laid out in the Proclamation itself.

The Proclamation is not retroactive. No valid visas will be revoked under this Proclamation. For questions regarding entry into the United States, we refer you to the Department of Homeland Security.
