Processing time for a full validity (5 year) U.S. passport is approximately 2 weeks from the date when we received your application and payment. Your passport will be delivered to your Romanian address by an embassy approved courier service once processing has been completed. We will contact you by telephone or e-mail before sending your new passport with the courier service.

Note: We will cancel your current passport at the time you submit your application for renewal.

If you are also applying for a Passport Card, you should note that they take 4 – 6 weeks to process.

Applicants who need to travel in less than two weeks may request a limited validity emergency passport. Same-day issuance is available for applications that are complete and straightforward. In some cases, if additional review is required, same day service may not be available.
